Save .org – stop the handling of the domain from falling into private equity’s hands

Public Interest Registry, the group responsible for the .org domain registry has been bought by a private equity firm. This could be disastrous for nonprofits that rely on the low price (less than $10 a year) that PIR maintained as now new management is sure to raise it.

Research confirms, making plans to deal with emissions is great and all but if we keep extracting fossil fuels, we’re not going to be able to meet emission goals. In order to reach the goals to keep the planet safe, one thing is clear, we’ve got to move away from fossil fuels but not everyone is on board.

Labour Proposes Radical Idea – remove corporations from Stock Exchange who don’t clean up

In a radical move, the Labour party plans to de-list companies who do not take action on climate change if they are a source of emissions or other risk factors, from the Stock Exchange. This sort of drastic approach to force companies to take responsibility is becoming more common and may be what is needed to turn the tide on the issue.

LESS – the toilet coating that saves water

In order to save water, many people have turned to taking shorter (and sometimes less) showers. That’s great but there’s another spot in your bathroom where you could save. Your toilet. Electric Car Battery that Charges in 10 Minutes – new battery developed for fast charging of cars

One of the things that keeps electric cars from hitting it big is the problem with the battery. It takes a while to recharge. An hour or more to get 200-300 miles worth of driving time out of them. An hour to charge your phone, fine, but could you imagine waiting an hour at the gas pump? New technology may have cut this time down to minutes.
