Doggy Dream Homes – the ultimate dog house for your pampered pet

Doggy Dream Homes. Er…what is there to say about this? So we’re all for equal rights for our canine brothers and sisters, but when they start living in accommodation that’s better than our own, well that’s just not right, is it? Frilly chintz curtains, decorative ‘doggy doors’, air-conditioning? This is just not a good trend to start! Pretty soon they’ll start demanding their own mobile phone, then the use of the SUV at weekends, and it’ll all be over. You…

Dropclock – cool slow motion clock screensaver

Dropclock is a very swish looking clock screensaver for Windows and Macintosh which features pictures of very slow motion numbers falling into water. OK, so it’s not the thing to watch if you’ve a tendency to sea-sickness, but artistic it definitely is. Although it’s probably not quite as krazy kat as Uniqlock. Oh and it costs $15.00.  DROPCLOCK IS AN AESTHETICALLY INTRIGUING MOTION CLOCK SCREENSAVER. EVERY MINUTE OF REAL TIME IS NUMERICALLY EXPRESSED WITH HEAVY HELVETICA DROPPING INTO WATER IN…

PMOG – the browsing game that combines Stumbleupon with a dynamic web-ring

PMOG. I’ve just started playing this very weird web browsing game called Passively Multiplayer Online Game. The idea is you install the browser add-on and then surf around the web as normal. Every so often you will come across a game challenge left by someone which pops up on your screen to challenge you, at which point you can either ignore and dismiss it or agree to play. Once you agree, the whole thing becomes just a sort of dynamic web-ring…

Milk – the cool white Danish computer table with pretensions

OK so the Milk Computer Table is sleek, white and very Scandinavian in design. It also comes with an adjustable centre leg to ensure it’s at your perfect height, a nice cable tidy system, an integral trash can and..ahem…what we assume is an optional aquarium. Price as yet unavailable, which we assume means they’re trying to cost up the profit on a slab of white MDF without making it seem too obscene.   Tags: milk, computer+table, office+furniture

T-Sketch T-Shirt – scribble your own messages on your clothing and get arrested

The T-Sketch T-Shirt is the latest in a long line of stupid-wear. Sure it sounds cool to be able to scribble illuminated messages on your chest like some majorly geekout warrior, but you’ll be the one crying when the first wash sees it go all wrinkled and shrunk and pathetic looking. Pah! £29.99.  Anything that’s drawn on the wipe-clean panel activates a glowing light beneath so that it lights up. You can also change the flashing sequence to suit your preference…

PedalPub – the self-propelled, community based refreshment hostelry

PedalPub. Derived from the Dutch FjetCafe, but definitely not to be confused with the CycleSeven conference bike. No alcohol while on the public highway, 16 passengers, 5 pedalling seats and a driver. Max speed 5 mph, avoid hills like the plague and don’t forget to bring along the $150.00 per hour rental fee. Have fun, crazy people!  Who should rent the PedalPub? Corporations for team building, group rewards, and promotions. A property management firm booked us for an ice cream…

Myfotowall – real wallpaper from your photos

Myfotowall converts your photographs into wallpaper to use in your home. It’s super clever blow-up tech of course, and with the right image really hits the spot, especially for commercial premises, but we’re talking a lot of money for the privilege. Around £45.00 per square metre. But hey, it’s art right?  We can print your digital photograph, up to a maximum of 1600% (16x) larger, then the original printable size, with no discernible loss in printed quality…The inks used to produce…

Rolleiflex MiniDigi – now with extra pixels

Rolleiflex MiniDigi. The venerable, innovative and definitely quirkily retro DigiMini has had an upgrade to 3 megapixels (5 megapixels interpolated), autofocus and a 1.1 inch TFT viewfinder screen. Moving at light speed this bunch, aren’t they? Maybe by 2015 they’ll have a 7 megapixel version and we’ll all be able to die happy. But hey, snark aside, it’s a lovely little thing. And that cute top down viewfinder and wind up retro shooting action is just sooooo cool. £399.00.  …

Viscosity – create modern art, easily

Viscosity. Nice little tool for creating modern type art. Simple but varied toolset, some great effects and lots of flexibility. Uber cool application. Now what they ought to do is let you buy it framed after you see it demonstrated (click Save). My piece – called Spike – doesn’t look too bad in a frame, does it? Arf! But there are some artists who clearly know what they’re doing…  Viscosity was created because it’s beautiful, relaxing, and turns anyone into an abstract…

1000 True Fans – how to make money in the new media landscape

1000 True Fans. This piece has been circulating around the Net recently and it seems to make a fair bit of sense. The basic premise is that instead of shooting for blockbuster, megastar status, artists should aim to cultivate a small but loyal fan base willing to spend a small sum to support the artist’s work. On the face of it, this is very logical. Nowadays the revolution in communications has made it almost trivial to reach audiences across the globe for…
