Could Ingress And Glass Become Google’s Next Killer Product?

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been playing a game called Ingress, developed by Google and currently being played in closed invite-only beta across the world. The game, which draws heavily on a kind of Matrix meets StarCraft science fiction styling, melds augmented reality with smartphones, computers and the kind of backstory that only a Hollywood scriptwriter could dream up.

National Geographic Shoe Lights – there’s adventure afoot!

The scariest thing about hiking at night is not really knowing where to put your feet. Obviously one foot in front of the other, but you’re not going to know you’re stepping into a hole until it’s happening. We’ve seen a way to light up shoes in a colorful way before, but if you’re wanting something that will hold up on a jaunt through the forest, you’ll need lighting with a bit more substance.

Marshmallow Single Shot Popper – Don’t move or I’ll shoot!

While matters may have been easy to settle with a duel in the past, we’ve since moved on to better forms of diplomacy. No need for all that nonsense involving guns and bullets. However, you can’t help but want to see who would’ve been the fastest shot every now and again. What better weapon than marshmallows to experiment with?

Four Person Beach Mat is a sand-free zone for fun

What do kids love about being at a beach? If you answered “putting sand on anything and everything they come in contact with”, then you would be correct. They don’t understand that it’s the duty of the parents to deal with sand in all of the towels, clothing, and shoes in the aftermath.

Secret Knock Detecting Lock – Knock knock! Who’s there?

Did you ever have a club house where you had to have a secret password or knock to get in? While we can’t exactly fit into the old tree house, that doesn’t mean we can’t still keep the secret knock between friends. The only difference is that you have to be a bit sneakier in the implementation, or not everyone will play along.

Senz Stealth Umbrella is going under the radar of wind and rain

Have you ever faced a day that was so full of rain and wind that it turned your umbrella inside out? Not only is that instance embarrassing but also terrifying, as you just know that one of those little end points is going to poke you in the eye. Even the most expensive umbrella in the world is subject to this issue, but there are those out there that believe they are made of tougher stuff.

MangaHigh – who said math has to be boring?

If there’s one thing guaranteed to scare most school children to their core, it’s the thought of doing another math test. All that trigonometry, algebra, equations and other implements of torture, and just one small brain to deal with it.

SUREswivel – don’t get your tethers in a twist

Your four-legged canine friend loves to run around and play pretty much all the time. While that keeps them active and healthy, there are times when you want to do something other than chase squirrels or check out fire hydrants. Normally this is a time to put Fido on a tether within view, but turn your head for two seconds, and they’ve somehow gotten tangled into a mess that only your pocket and earbuds can normally concoct.

Skyroll Wrinkle-Free Luggage Carrier is an everything burrito for travellers

Flying is a easy way to get from one place to another. Correction: flying will take you from point A to point B very quickly, but is a pain. Why, you ask?  Going through security checks, having to pack in specific sizes while staying within an ounce of a weight limit, no space for carry-on luggage, and screaming children.

The Smart Dog Leash has everything but the kitchen sink

Taking Sir Barksalot for a walk is usually an enjoyable time. You get to look at the same scenery everyday for the same amount of time and enjoy the sunshine! Of course, your canine friend is in need of a little help picking up what’s left behind, and will need reassurance that they are indeed a good boy/girl. That being said, it’s your job to remember to bring treats and bags.

Remote Control Bubble Copter will rain down fun from the heavens

There are days when you wish that mediocre moments could be interrupted by something amazing. Tap dancing sharks or a bear in a tutu would definitely liven things up, but the aftermath might not be so pretty. If you want to bring some fun into your day without involving an animal that might eat you, finding a way to involve bubbles might be a better option.
