Plug ‘n’ Play Cricket.

Plug ‘n’ Play Cricket. Cricket, for the sadly uninitiated, is that bizarre occupation whereby two teams of supposed grown ups can compete for days and still end up with a tied game. I mean, who came up with that genius proposal, eh? Anyhoo, through the miracle of technology, you can now play for weeks in your living room until death or a nearby Madonna concert intervene. Complete with bat, ball and a box full of infinite patience. You’re gonna need it. £39.95….

Photo Golf Balls.

Photo Golf Balls. Why? Well maybe some people get a kick out of birdying their boss out of the rough on a par 5 dog-leg? Er…did I just say all that? From around $13.00.  Zipline can put any photo on the ball in monotone (not full color), based on either a black & white or color photo. Head shots of your friends and enemies work great. After you select your ball brand and quantity, click on the company logo link…

Flying Manta, man.

The Flying Manta Ray Inflatable looks like lots of jolly wheeze fun. Actually scrub that, judging by the video it looks like lots of jolly dangerous. And the company should expect some patent problems from a claimant sometime soon. $499.95.  Unlike towable watercraft that stay on the surface of the water, this inflatable watercraft and its rider are able to rise above the surface and hover in the air at speeds as low as 23 miles per hour…The 11′ wingspan not only allows…

Mini Table Football.

Mini Table Football. Nice looking aluminium, stainless steel and green felt ‘foosball’ table. Playable too apparently, although who knows if it can match the sheer adrenaline pumped excitement of an evening watching Scunthorpe United at work? £8.95.  There’s no comparison to the usual wobbly plastic products: This mini-stadium is made of sparkling aluminium and stainless steel. Four soft non-slip rubber feet support it on any even surface. The game is played with a solid metal “ball”. This – according to…

Battleships.

Sinkmyship. If you love Battleships you’re going to love this free online multiplayer version. Just sign in – registered or as a guest – pick a partner and start playing. Great graphics, great gameplay of course. Chat available too. Java and Ajax, so I suppose you could say it’s a Web 2.0 game. Nice nice, I wish the boys luck with it.

Hockey to go.

The Foldable Air Hockey Table. Space saver means that you can cram one of these puppies behind a door or otherwise lose it when not in use. Which in small apartments could be a marriage saver. Lego Music Machine.

The Color Scanning Lego Music Machine. Weird little contraption makes music by scanning Lego bricks. I think. Anyhoo, Mindstorms hackerz strike again!  The first thing I built is a (ta-daaam) Lego Music Machine. The idea is simple: the machine functions more or less like a scanner, except that in stead of creating an image from the scanned information, sound is generated.

Guassian Gun.

The Guassian Gun. Fun and frolics with a set of magnets and a rail. No ball bearings were hurt during the making of the video. £10.00.  Very slowly, you roll the loose ball bearing towards the magnets. As it approaches the magnets, it and the magnets are pulled together sharply, since these are very strong magnets. And as a result, rather like that Newton’s Cradle executive toy we used to see a few years ago, the ball bearing at the…
