Remax Reversible USB Cable – at last, an end to the infuriating struggle with USB cables

USB is an awesome connector standard because it’s so convenient. And more importantly it’s so everywhere! Now that the standard is well established, we’re basking in a sea of compatible devices, chargers, phones, TVs, music players, you name it. But if there’s one thing that drives us nuts, it’s the fact that you have to put the cable in the right way round each time, and you just know your first attempt is going to fail, and in the dark….

KidFit Activity Tracker – now getting healthy can be fun, and not a bore chore

Gone are the days when children considered playing outside to be a favorite activity. Nowadays all the cool kids on the block are busy playing updating their Twitter or Facebook profiles, taking selfies for Instagram, or watching movies on Netflix. This type of lifestyle is actually unhealthy for children and adults as well. Isn’t it? Sure it is. But now you can fight back with style.

iTOi Video Booth – new invention turns your tablet into a more intimate video call booth

If you spend a fair amount of time doing Skype video calls, you may have noticed that it can be far from ideal, especially if you’re using an iPad or other tablet to do the chatting. For one thing you need to prop it up somewhere, and for another you’re not exactly getting the full extent of the sound coming out of the rear mounted speakers.

No-Charge Smart Watch – put some cool on your wrist without all the hassles

So smart watches are all the rage right? People are queuing on the streets to grab one (probably), taking them home and then putting them in the drawer when they realize it’s yet another thing that needs to be kept charged every day. Boring. Who needs more hassle, when there’s enough to cope with using phones, cameras, music players and stuff?

Xinxun X43 Mini Hexacopter – because your quad-copter is just so last year

Remember when four propellers were the thing? When we couldn’t get enough of these little critters scurrying across the sky doing backflips and dive bombs? Well that was then, and now is now. And quads just don’t cut it any more. Nowadays everyone wants bigger, faster, more powerful six rotor craft. But you’ll probably have to settle for this if you’re on a budget.

Nova Wireless Pocket Flash – give your low light phone photos a fighting chance

Snapping a decent photo with your 13-megapixel smartphone camera shouldn’t be a big problem in good lighting conditions, but when the environment is a bit dark, the camera’s small LED flash doesn’t help much in taking a great picture. This is where an external flash would come in really handy.

Panther Vision Solar Powercap – solar powered cap lights up your world and turns you green

If you’re going out in the dark then you’d better be prepared to face the darkness, right? Unless you’re a Lord of The Night. So a good durable flashlight is a must have in these conditions, to light up your path. However,  packing an extra torch may sometimes make your gear a bit heavy which can slow you down.

Sony Z3 Hands On – and quick comparison against the LG G3 [Review]

We were in town yesterday for the launch of the new Android superphone from Sony, the Sony Z3. What’s clear is this is more of an evolution than a revolution in technology, since the new phone looks, feels and operates almost identically to the older Z3 which it replaces. However there are a few differences to note.

SeatyLock – the first really cool and workable new security device for bicycles we’ve seen

We hate promoting Kickstarter projects as you know, but this one deserves a bit of attention, because it looks like it could actually solve a big problem for bicycle riders across the world. The SeatyLock is what it says, a bike saddle which converts into a bike lock when you’re parked up. Now there have been a ton of crowdfunding attempts to improve the bike lock, and most of them have been patently rubbish. Not so this one.

Haynes Build Your Own V8 Engine – the perfect gift for bonding with dad

Picture this: A father and son working on the engine for a cherry red hot rod in the garage, dad bent over the open hood, beckoning for his son to hand him the next tool. So emotive. If you’re into building engines (or want to be into it) there’s another option for people who don’t have garages, kids, or cherry red hot rods. The Haynes Build Your Own V8 Engine is a no mess option for curious grease monkeys wannabes.

Piper – the best little home security and automation device you’ll find at the price [Review]

We’ve got a small confession to make, we don’t really like home security and automation devices. The ones we’ve looked at in the past have promised much, and in the end delivered more disappointment than anything else. The big problem with most of them is they’re just too darned hard to install, and when you do finally manage to get it all working, there’s typically something which doesn’t do what it’s supposed to, which is very annoying. But now there’s…
