Our music wiki is open again

Oh yes, I keep forgetting to say that the Ferret music wiki is open again. For those who don’t know, it’s a listing of free and legal music download sites which anyone can add to, as long as it’s legitimate. It’s free, fun and you never know, you might find something really interesting to add to your massive Abba collection.

Winner.

WINNER! Yes we have a winner in our ‘Beat the Winter Blues’ competition. A huge thanks to everyone who took the time to enter, some great entries which made it genuinely difficult to decide. In the end we went for Abhijit with his clever topical Pluto reference and the nod to one of our fave movies, High Fidelity. Runner up prize to Storm for his faintly mysoginist rant, and shout outs to all the non-winners – including H-C (get a bigger cupboard dude), freak (good luck with that) and Jonathan (for…

Competition update.

So there’s just a couple more days to go in the Ferret competition to end all competitions. Well OK, you know what we mean. Anyway don’t be shy, get in there and have a go, the more the merrier. Don’t forget, if you want to win the super cool Collectorz.com barcode cataloguing system you’ve got to enter. Sitting there with a smug grin on your face won’t do it, trust us on that one. And just to entice y’all, we’re going…

Apologies…

Apologies to anyone suffering from Ferret access problems. We’re engaged in a tussle with IP addresses at the moment. We’d say more, but it’s not pretty.

Ferret Collectorz Competition!

Heck, summer’s almost over but that’s no excuse to be down in the dumps, so we’ve decided to hold a snap competition to cheer us all up. The prize is a fabulous Collectorz.com Bundle which includes any three of their uber cool cataloguing programs (there’s a choice of 7, including Music, Movies and Books) PLUS a groovy Microvision Flic handheld barcode scanner. The whole kit is worth a spectaculicious $288.00 (£174.00) and will let you catalog your collection of music, DVDs or whatever faster than you…

PrinterAnywhere +

Just an update on a couple of things. First, PrinterAnywhere is now working for me completely. And it’s genuinely fabulous. Don’t take my word for it, try it out. Hey, it’s free. And secondly, wonder of wonders, my Zookoda email newsletter service is also now working again. Hurrah! So sign up for the newsletter if you haven’t already done so. I do like this service the best out of all the rival email feed services, so here’s hoping it continues to…

Our first T!

Whooo-eee! The Ferret has sold its first T-Shirt. Black. So c’mon Peter, wherever you’re from, send us a photo of you wearing it and we’ll feature it on the gallery for all the world to see. Or put it on yer cat, we’re not proud! Wheeeee!  You have to understand children, it’s not the *selling* of the T-Shirt that counts (let’s face it, we’re never going to out merchandise Disney now, are we?), it’s the fact that someone actually wants…

Digest broken?

Hmm…apologies to our newsletter digest subscribers but it appears that the Zookoda system appears to be broken. To be honest I’m not that impressed. Their service has been patchy since Day one, their tech support – if you can laughably call it that – is pathetic, and all they’ve really got going for them is that the system is well thought out and simple to set up and administer. But no blinking good if it doesn’t work as advertised, eh? If anyone has…

101 Groovy Gadget Sites.

101 Groovy Gadget Sites. So when the Ferret first started there were only about two gadget sites out there, and as far as we know not one blog. Well my dears, how times have changed, and not a week now goes by without us hearing about some new toy boy on the block. So here, to satisfy all those with a terminal passion for gadgets and gizmos, is our round-up of a fair number of the sites out there pandering to…

New Ferrety newsletter.

Hey folks, we’re trying out a new newsletter service from Zookoda for those who don’t like RSS. You’ll find the subscription box at the top right of the page somewhere. Subscribers will receive a weekly digest of Ferret posts in their email inbox every Sunday (in HTML or plain text format). At last, an excuse to throw out Beetle Bailey! And yes we promise we’ll be very very careful with your email address. Honest!
