Grow Up Hydrogarden – the all in one garden for people without the space or time

Gardens are definitely cool, even if they do tend to take a bit of work to manage. But at least you get some exercise and the fruits – sometimes literally – of your labor are on show for everyone to see. But what happens if you don’t have the space or the time to do the whole full on dig and dirt thing?

Imagine your luggage is just code – get ready for a future where we don’t own things, but instead make and destroy on demand

Finnish designer and creative director of 3D systems, Janne Kyttanen, has recently posted a video outlining a possible future where 3D printing is embedded in our lives in a completely new way. He asks us to imagine a world where everything we own – in this case specifically our vacation luggage – is stored as nothing but computer code. Instead of carrying our belongings with us on holiday, the idea is we print it all out at our destination on…

Is It Really Time For Some Change?

Dr Nafeez Ahmed yesterday posted what I think is one of the most reasonable overviews of the current global socio-economic situation I’ve yet seen. In this writer’s humble and inexpert opinion his article – The Global Transition tipping point has arrived – outlines the reality of our position in terms of economic, political and resource options that make a lot of sense. And it’s not doom and gloom.

5 Cool Products Which Prove That Dean Kamen Really Did Start A Quiet Revolution

They’re called Personal Transporters nowadays, but way back in 2001 when Dean Kamen first introduced the Segway to the world, it was called an HT, for Human Transporter. It’s not just the marketing that has changed over the years, but also the public acceptance of this brand new type of transport.

The Restart Project – free help to repair your electronics instead of throwing them away, good citizen style

We’re wasting too much stuff, aren’t we? How many times have you thrown away a perfectly good flashlight or other household device, knowing full well that it could be repaired, but it ‘wasn’t worth it’? Yeah, it sucks, especially if you’re keen not to add any more landfill to the already obscene amount out there.
