2015 Audi A3 Sportback eTron – hybrid motoring done with style and effect [Review]

The recent furore over the Volkswagen group diesel fraud hasn’t removed the fact that the German group has been doing some solid work on hybrid and low MPG technology in general, as we’ve seen from our reviews of recent Golf products. VW Golf GTE Hybrid – part oil, part electric family machine [Review]

The march of the hybrid car continues as more and more manufacturers stake their eco claim by introducing vehicles powered by part fossil fuel and part electricity. The new VW Golf GTE is one such car, and it combines the typical practicality of a conventional Golf family car with the exotic performance and frugality of a hybrid. The result is rather pleasing. We tested one out for a period to see what it was like to live with.

2015 VW Passat GTE – first drive of the ultimate 149 mpg company fleet car [Review]

If anyone needs proof that the world is slowly changing, look no further than the major car manufacturers. These lumbering dinosaurs are being forced, kicking and screaming, into the eco driven future to the extent that they’re even converting their major sellers into green machines. The latest example is this Volkswagen Passat GTE, a plugin hybrid (PHEV) which boasts ‘official’ consumption figures of 149 mpg and 31 miles of all electric range. And at a price which is very nearly…

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro – 13.3 inch screen and an integrated projector, a very unusual tablet indeed [Review]

There are tablet computers, and then there are ‘tablet’ computers. Most of the genre, except for the iPad masters, offer a lot of me-too tech, or simply a lower price to try and win customers. But occasionally there’s a tablet which really tries to be different, and so it is with this new tablet computer from the Lenovo stable. Big, brassy and bold. And that’s just the box.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A – this sleek new tablet computer offers family friendly computing on the go [Review]

Tablet computers seem to be enjoying a little bit of a surge in popularity again, maybe because they’re coming down in price, and are offering some nice features along the way. It also helps that more ‘generic’ software is now available for the most popular platforms like Android, which makes them even more useful. We recently checked out one of the latest tablets to come out of the Samsung stable, and found it to be a very solid workhorse for…

2015 VW Golf TSI Bluemotion – 3 cylinder, 76.5 mpg, 127 mph, petrol wizard [Review]

Something’s up with the car world. Unless we’re hallucinating, it looks like the major manufacturers are actually starting to try and produce vehicles which are designed to be fuel frugal, instead of sticking their head in the sand about the economic and environmental situation. The result is more and more cars on the road which give more miles per gallon, without sacrificing quality, performance or style.
