Syma X5C Quadcopter Camera – at last, a budget flyer which is easy to fly [Review]

Quadcopter cameras, which let you fly around and take cool video from strange new exotic angles, are now becoming very popular. This is mostly because the range of prices and features to choose from is growing hugely, which means you can now find something for everyone. The products at the budget end are really the most exciting though, because, like smartphones, they’re getting cheaper and cooler every day, which is good news for wannabe pilots everywhere.

GCell Solar Bluetooth Keyboard – the genuine no-charge keyboard for your tablet or smartphone [Review]

If you’re a real road warrior, you’ll know that nothing really beats the flexibility of a real keyboard for tablet or smartphone. Sure you can use the on-screen keyboard with touch to type out stuff, but if you want to be properly efficient you definitely need the clatter of some real keys. The problem is most Bluetooth keyboards add yet another thing to charge to your long list, which can be a pain. Until now.

Parrot Bebop Drone Camera – incredibly easy to fly, and amazing video quality, what’s not to like? [Review]

Quadcopter cameras are awesome fun, don’t let anyone tell you differently. They’re fun to fly, great for exploring new spaces and it’s fun to edit the video when you get back home. But the big problem they’ve had up to now is the fact that they’re really quite difficult to fly properly. Even the easiest, GPS controlled ones are tricky, which puts a lot of people off. But now a new generation of quadcopter cameras are coming on to the…

Ozobot – cutest little robot in the world dances way better than you do [Review]

It’s rather hard to describe exactly what Ozobot is. On the one hand, it’s a tiny happy little dancing robot which loves to change its colored lights to the music. On the other it’s a pretty sophisticated piece of engineering which also doubles up as an educational tool to help kids learn how about logic and the basics of programming.

Yotaphone 2 – wow, this amazing new phone makes other phones look so outdated [Review]

When the Yotaphone people introduced the first Yotaphone back at the beginning of this year the general view was ‘nice idea, shame about the implementation’. Boy how much can change in 9 months. The new Yotaphone 2 , released today is a real stunner, and it’s probably going to change the way we look at and use smartphones for ever.

EHEAR E2 – a Bluetooth wireless headset and action camera in one [Review]

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, along comes a product that makes you go, hmmm. This new EHEAR E2 Bluetooth Headset & Action Camera is one such product. It’s actually a very clever idea. Take a standard wireless headset which you can use with your phone to pick up and make calls, and integrate a camera so you can also take videos as you travel around. Makes sense.

Yeah, so we all know that phones are getting thinner and lighter, but what about actual size? Well here’s an interesting alternative for you gadget freaks which should give you exactly what you need.

Quantum Of The Seas – we take a trip on the mind blowing new $1 billion mega ship, probably the best cruise liner ever built [Review]

Last week we were given an unprecedented opportunity to travel out with the incredible new Quantum Of The Seas cruise liner as part of its pre-inaugural shake-down cruise from Southampton port. For the uninitiated, the Quantum is the most technology packed cruise ship ever to sail the seven seas – billed as the world’s first ‘Smart Ship‘ – and comes with a suitably impressive price tag of near on a billion dollars. Give or take.

Revell QuadCam QuadCopter – small, light flyer complete with camera [Review]

Quadcopters are all the rage at the moment, and for good reason. They’re fun, and when combined with an on-board camera they make for great toys and professional hobby gear. We’ve looked at the high end spec stuff, but now we thought we would take a look at the cheaper end of the market.

Mann Zug 3+ Rugged Android Smartphone – ultra tough phone comes with solid decent specs as well [Review]

The truly great thing about the Android ecosystem is the fact that you’re not limited to just one type of phone for your needs. You can buy fast phones, slow cheap phones, thin ones, big phablet types and also of course toughened rugged models. However up till recently if you opted for a tough smartphone, you had to put up with inferior specifications all round. But not any longer! [Update: the retailers are offering Red Ferret readers a $20 discount…

2014 Anker Astro E4 Portable Battery Pack – new sleek powerful 13,000 mAh battery pack will keep your weekend fully charged [Review]

It says a lot about the state of the gadget market that there are so many portable power packs around. We’re clearly in a kind of power drought, with phones and tablets which require too much juice and not enough supply to go around. In other words, battery life stinks.

Sony Z3 Hands On – and quick comparison against the LG G3 [Review]

We were in town yesterday for the launch of the new Android superphone from Sony, the Sony Z3. What’s clear is this is more of an evolution than a revolution in technology, since the new phone looks, feels and operates almost identically to the older Z3 which it replaces. However there are a few differences to note.

Piper – the best little home security and automation device you’ll find at the price [Review]

We’ve got a small confession to make, we don’t really like home security and automation devices. The ones we’ve looked at in the past have promised much, and in the end delivered more disappointment than anything else. The big problem with most of them is they’re just too darned hard to install, and when you do finally manage to get it all working, there’s typically something which doesn’t do what it’s supposed to, which is very annoying. But now there’s…
