15 (almost but not quite) iPad Clones for Apple Haters

Here you go. 15 iPad Clones for Apple Haters. They’re almost totally horrible, but it’s a fun game to play right?  I love the functionality my iPac gives me…But I don’t like the inflated prices or the quasi-cult forming around the Apple brand. I’m not alone… so to appease the other half of me, the part that HATES Apple, manufacturers are marketing questionable (read: illegal) iPad knockoffs. EKEN M001 7-inch MID – an Android tablet for $99?

Today I spotted this cool looking EKEN M001 7″ Android MID, although really the best part was the price, at around US$99 (RMB 680), which was a bit of a surprise. It seems to be aimed at the Western market as the instructions on the package are written in English and the case is similar to a normal e-book, although it is not made with the same quality material. Segway i2 Clone – is nothing sacred, even white elephants?

We’re trying to figure out this Global Sources entry. Is it a real Chinese Segway i2 clone, or is it a legitimate Chinese sub-contractor making Segways for their domestic market. Either way it’s weird. Talk about lame duck enterprises. [Ahhh…Dan sends me a possible explanation – http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2008/07/chinese-police/] Tags: segway+i2, chinese+clone, shanzhai
