Free MP3 Ringtone Maker produces surprisingly great results [Freeware]

There are lots of ringtone makers out there in the world, ranging from online versions to supposedly sophisticated commercial versions costing quite a bit of money. For the most part, though, these products and services deliver a pretty mediocre result, often with pretty dire audio resolution and not a lot of punch.

Teavana Perfect Tea Touch wants to make sure every cup of tea is the best one

Tea could be labeled as an art form, as there are so many different kinds, and various ways to prepare it. If you are just starting to learn about tea, it can almost be overwhelming as you don’t know how long certain ones need to be brewed, or what kind of beverage accessories are best paired with it (if you should need any). One of the biggest things is how long you should steep your tea, as a minute too…

Myfitnesspal helps your keep your weight in check

For the past two years, my weight has been going up at a steady pace. Gaining weight is something that happens to all of us, but you don’t notice unless you’re really starting to pack on the pounds. While I could go through all of the generic stuff like diets didn’t work for me and blahblahblah, I figured I’d rather just get to the good stuff. Over the course of a couple of months, I dropped about 15 pounds thanks…

CRADAR monitors your phone and automatically alerts an emergency contact if you suffer an accident [Freeware]

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a guardian angel watching over us? A small cuddly being, whose only job was to make sure we avoided scrapes and minimize our pain in times of trouble. Of course this is all rather fanciful thinking, unless your name is Justin Bieber and you have a nice chap called Mike/Joe/Pete permanently on your shoulder, but it’s nice to dream.

AppLock – stop strangers from messing with your smartphone stuff [Freeware]

The really scary thing about having a smartphone is the fact that it rapidly becomes a crucial part of your life. Having had one for a few years, I’ve now noticed that I rely on it for a huge amount of personal and professional work and services. I’ve not yet added mobile banking (and probably never will), but apart from that, there’s tons of stuff on my phone, including email, messaging and certain apps, which I prefer other people, even…

We all need sleep. But sometimes it’s hard to get, particularly after a hard day working and too much caffeine, stress and excitement. So we turn to aids, drugs, alcohol or other ways to help us wind down. Most of the time we know it’s not doing a lot for our health, but the need is great.

Patch My PC keeps your computer updated automatically [Freeware]

Running a computer can be a hazardous process, as most of us know by now. First Aid by British Red Cross is the smartphone app that could save a life [Freeware]

One of the awesomest things about teh smartphone is the fact that it’s portable. Which means you carry around a tiny computer which can hold incredibly useful bundles of information, as well as the means to access a global storehouse of even more data. When you think about it, it’s science fiction made real, isn’t it?

OneLoupe makes your laptop’s tiny text big enough to read [Freeware]

One of the great things about laptop computing is the portability of being able to work anywhere. One of the bad things about laptop computing is the fact that the portability means your screen is often difficult to read, especially in bad lighting situations. Wouldn’t it be great if there was some tool which could magnify your screen display to make it easier to scan?

AniReminder will make sure you NEVER forget [Freeware]

There’s always too much to do and too little time to do it in, which is why we tend to forget stuff. Most of the time we get away with it, until those times when we forget something Really Important ™, like the mother-in-laws visit or the appointment with the parole officer. That’s when you’re going to wish you had some nuclear strength tool close by to help you remember stuff when it counts.
