Kaossilator Touchpad Synthesizer – fun mini synth plays on, dude

Kaossilator

The Kaossilator Touchpad Music Synthesizer sure looks like a lot of fun. Judging by the funski video, you can generate a really cool range of music and sounds just by jiggling the knob and running your fingers across the touchpad at strategic moments. It runs off 4 AA batteries which will last for around 5 hours at a stretch, which is just perfect for laying down those kickin’ beats on the move. Just wear headphones, OK? $199.99.

his pocket sized music synthesizer is like nothing we’ve seen before. Rather than using keys or buttons to play musical notes, the Kaossilator features a revolutionary touchpad design. Move your finger from left to right to change the pitch of the note, and up and down to change the sound. But musical sounds are only the beginning, the Kaossilator can also be used like a drum kit with dozens of built in beats and drum sounds. Plus you get some amazing sound effects from laser blasts to Pac Man.

  • Got mine a few months ago. Actually I have two, and mixed together with the Korg Mixer KM-402 there’s very decent potential. Well, I still have to practice to really use that potential. I’ve uploaded some of my live action (I won’t say ‘performance’…) at boomp3.com:
    FirstBase
    SecondBase
    ThirdPole
    Beware, I’m still a beginner ;)

  • Your video link doesn't work! I love the Kaossilator and have been spending the past few months researching sweet techniques to make truly unique songs on it. There's a cool video of artist "Mfdhdp" tearin' it up on my tips & tricks section!
