Mi-Vox – pre-loaded pocket friendly audio books

Mivox2

The Mi-Vox Audio Player comes pre-loaded with audio books of your choice, runs off a single AAA battery and can hold up to 60 hours of material. What’s more it has auto-bookmarking built in so it remembers where you last left off in your listening.

Mivox

There aren’t a whole lot of titles available right now because the product was only just launched in August, and the prices are pretty steep from around £9,99, but it’s an interesting idea nevertheless. Is this a better bet than buying audio books from Audible or iTunes? Your call.

The iPod is good for music, but the mi-vox is better for audio books. Downloading an audio book to an iPod takes time – maybe several hours – and uses up space. With a mi-vox you can save time and keep your iPod free for your music collection. And if you want to keep your child entertained you don’t have to take the risk of lending them your precious iPod…Perfect for capturing public events. Concert promoters and conference organisers can record their event and rapidly produce mi-vox mementos. So as you leave you can literally take the event home with you, captured forever on a mi-vox for you to listen to again and again and share with your friends.

  • It’s great you’re covering this space, but in fact this audiobook product is a not a new innovation. Our company launched the original, patent-pending pre-loaded audio book called Playaway more than two years ago. Today we have 70+ publishers, have produced over 1500 titles and have more than 6,000 libraries, schools and retailers (in multiple countries) carrying this product. To learn more visit http://www.playawaydigital.com, and see what Time Magazine, People, the NYTimes, the Financial Times, Forbes, and dozens of others have said about Playaway.
