Popstar is a free Java mobile phone game which lets you live out your fantasies of being Michael Jackson. Or maybe not. Anyway, the idea is that you raise your little star to the heights of fame and success by touring, rehearsing and snorting white…sorry where were we? Oh yes. And buying better equipment. It’s an ad supported game, and needs Internet access on your handset, so you’d better have a flat rate data plan, chum.

The overall idea is to control your very own popstar, running for fame and aiming to be placed high on the starlit sky. It can be compared with the popular Tamagotchi keyring, where the user has to bring up a small pet. To succeed in the rough world of popstars the user is as a minimum obliged to fulfil the basic needs like eating, drinking and sleeping. To gain further fame it is neccessary to tour, rehearse and buy new and better gear. The adjustment of these factors has to be proportional to match the real-life conditions to increase fame. It requires alot of attention to the popstar in order to be put in the world based hall of fame.
