DIY LED Bulbs – how to make your own super bright LED lamps

Diyledbulbs

How to make your own LED bulbs. This tutorial on making LED bulb arrays is a little old, but pretty cool nonetheless. You’ll need some glue, solder and a fair amount of patience. Oh along with some electrical smarts. Then you’re good to go.

After many attempts to make all sorts of LED-conversions I finnaly found one solution that is simple and efficient. Of course, you do need a great amount of patience in making this but when you consider the countless hours of pure light -low consumption you’ll get, it’s all worth it. This tutorial is about converting regular GU4(MR11) halogen bulbs to LED bulbs while maintaining full usability as 12V light bulbs that can be used in indoor task or accent lighting.

  • Super cool! I will have to get started on this right away!

  • nice conversion very compact. I converted a halogen desk lamp and made the head from flattened ABS thinwall (vacume) pipe the plans are on greenledlamp.info

  • i found that using the halogen lamp for a while makes it a lot easier to remove the cover (i've wrecked some fresh ones)

  • Link is not working.
