Test your BitTorrent connection – is your ISP throttling your downloads

bittorrenttest thumb Test your BitTorrent connection is your ISP throttling your downloads

Test Your BitTorrent Connection. A useful little online test to see whether your ISP is throttling your BitTorrent connections. Two tests available, short and long, and based around a Java applet. The servers are chronically overloaded at the moment, so you’ll probably have to retry a lot to get a test run.

To detect if an ISP rate limits BitTorrent traffic, we also run plain TCP transfers and compare the achieved throughput with the one from the BitTorrent transfers. If the TCP transfer achieves twice as much throughput as the BitTorrent transfer we report throttling of the BitTorrent transfer.
