Kwiry is a new SMS text reminder service which combines mobile phone smarts with the power of web search. The basic premise is for you to send yourself an SMS message as a reminder of something when you’re out and about. At which point the service will store the reminder and email you to jog your memory when you return to base. So far so hum-drum. The interesting bit is the connection to a set of tabbed information sources, to help you locate what you want or additional information at the click of a mouse button.
Once this information is collated you can choose to save or share it, which sounds as if it could be useful if you’re trying to say, organise a meal out with friends and you’re trying to find a decent local cafe.
The interface is nice and simple and the functionality is definitely interesting. I’m not sure just how much value the additional tabbed info offers over a simple reminder service like Jott, but hey, it’s free right? Big downside, no international support.
kwiry is a free service that turns text messages into reminders you retrieve online. When you text a reminder (a product to buy, movie trailer to watch, bill to pay, etc.) to 59479 (kwiry) we store it on our website. The next time you’re online you can log in to kwiry.com to manage your reminders, see search results for each one, and easily share with friends. See it. Text it. Get it.
