Anyhoo, it buzzes an alarm and lights up a small signal on the home unit, but what it really should do is say ‘you’ve got mail’ in that annoyingly slimy voice. We can but dream. $49.99.

It still amazes me that most people in America walk aaalll the way from their front door to the end of their garden to collect their post each morning. We lazy Brits sure could learn a thing or two about exercise from them…

Of course, this only apparently works if you actually get mail delievered to your home (or at least to the box on a post in you front yard).

Few of us in the Western US actually get mail delivery. Instead, our mail is delivered to community mailbox clusters, with 16 to 30 homes getting mail delivered to a single compatmentalized pod.

No front door that drops down to actiate the motion sensor.

Frank, I have the same problem driving down the 2 miles to the end of my drive. And as for those tigers and monkeys, pah….
