Hot on the heels of the MultiMedia Card Association’s announcement of a new teenier, tinier MM card specification, comes news that Hitachi is going to be first out of the blocks with sample product shipping within a week or so. Expect to see 16, 32 and 64MB cards on the streets early next year. [via digitlife]
For those who are interested the new spec makes the cards the same width, but almost half the length of existing SD/MM cards, which makes them perfect for mobile phones and small digicams etc. They can also fit into existing MM slots via the use of an adapter.
