Translate.net – freeware translation program covers 38 languages, capice?

Translatenet

Translate.net is a free translation program which offers up 38 languages from 35 translation services including Google, Yahoo! Babelfish, Systran and Wikipedia. The majorly cool thing is the fact that your translation is delivered from a selection of multiple services simultaneously, so you can choose which version you want to use. Windows only though, and it needs .NET, but definitely worth a download. Oh and it’s Open Source, so the source code is also available if anyone wants to extend or enhance it.

The Translate.Net will help you to translate words and phrases to and from numerous languages in simple way. This free, open-source software work as client to most popular translating services available online (translators, monolingual and bilingual dictionaries). Using results of translations from many different sources allow receiving much more reliability of translation.

  • Promising program. Just found out about it. Used the portable version, but it crashes immediately upon clicking on Tools, then Options.
    This is repeatable.

System is XP-SP3, AMD dual core 64, 4 GB RAM (no shortage of memory or disk space), DotNet installed, all versions up to version 4 for XP, machine is updated with automatic updates and optional updates all the time.

It appears that after the crash it is unable to report it. I gave it access (through the firewall) & permission to report it, but it kept spinning for ever!
