Logitech’s fatal mouse flaw – or why involuntary double clicks are a real pain

Logitechrevolutionmouse

I’ve had three of the Logitech Revolution family of computer mouses now, and I’m rapidly building up a love/hate relationship with them. On the one hand I love love love that free-wheeling mouse wheel, it makes browsing so much more pleasant and easy.

On the other hand, every single one of the darn things have decayed rapidly on me, with the result that they deliver unwanted double clicks from the left hand button as it wears. Every one. Same fault. And it seems I’m not the only one:

It may sound trivial, but it’s REALLY annoying, especially when it deletes email messages and stuff which you don’t want to vaporise.

ARE YOU LISTENING LOGITECH? Please make you mouse more robust. Because it stinks like it is.

  • Sounds painful.

    Delete recovery?

  • My VX Nano seems to show this symptom, and today it is becoming unbearably. I'm almost unable to do basic drag and drop operations now. This is a great shame as a dearly love this little mouse, and it is dear in another way… way too expensive to "just buy another". Have you had any success getting it replaced by logitech?

  • My Nano is doing this. I finally got so sick of Apple+Z to get back my deleted mail that I just use the delete key on the keyboard now. FRUSTRATING! Come on Logitech!

  • Same problem here!!!!

  • Same problem here, Logitech hardware is crap

  • Bad news, everyone. It's 2012, and I was searching the Web for people with the left mouse button problem on Logitech devices. Sigh. This is my third and final one.

  • Just tried the fix from Nigel for my M705 but no luck (waste of $50) – bought a M505 to see if it could last longer than 6 months – if this happens again, I'm done with Logitech mice – will go to Msoft (ugghh) or even Belkin!

  • I'm having this same problem too, but with a f***** Leadership…..
