UnlockShake – lock and unlock your Symbian smartphone with a quick shake of the wrist

UnlockShake is a small freeware proglet which lets you use the accelerometer on your Symbian smartphone to lock and unlock the keypad. Just give the handset a little shake up and down to lock the keys, and from side to side to unlock. Unfortunately installation is a bit of a hassle (you need to install Symbian Python and stuff, and the readme is in Portuguese – which I’ve translated below) but if you’re looking for an unusual mobile app to play with…?

 Note, you’ll see three files: UnlockShake_v1_0_0.sis, Modulo_App.sis and Read-me.txt…This file read-back me.txt the instructions and tips for installation in a text similar to the forum. Do not forget that you must have installed on your cellphone or Python (together with the Shell) and Plugin of the accelerometer. To install the app, first install THE MEMORY OF MOBILE file Modulo_App.sis and then install ALSO IN MEMORY OF MOBILE UnlockShake_v1_0_0.sis the file. If the act of installing the phone asking if you want to replace one of these 3 files that mention here and now, click “Yes”: aXYZ_3rd_N95_1_0_2_selfsigned.sisx, appswitch_selfsigned.sisx or misty193_selfsigned.sisx. After the installation of these 2 files, Go to “Apple” and turn the UnlockShake. After the splash screen appears, DO NOT CLICK THE RED BUTTON FOR OFF, where you should click the “Menu” for the app stay active.
