The Ego Flash is a nifty little bluetooth handsfree device with some very cool extra features. It’s as if they started with a list of everything you could add into a bluetooth-handsfree unit and just ticked them all off. Instead of the usual, trying to build the thing and then squeezing as much stuff into it as they could. Even the user manual looks spiff!
The Ego Flash has two parts, the brains of the outfit which can be hidden anywhere in the car and the discrete control panel with it’s 1.6″ OLED display and a handful of buttons. The two units are wired together via your car stereo which is used to provide the audio output, so installing it probably needs the professional touch. The display does the usual displaying of caller ID, controls your phone, hangs up, redials etc and allows you to select different functions of the Flash. It will also read aloud any text messages received which should be interesting if they were sent by teenagers. You can control your phone and instruct it to dial numbers all completely hands-free and with no machine training required. The darn thing can even hold 10,000 entries from your phone’s contact list so it’s great if you’re Paris Hilton.
As well as being a bluetooth handsfree unit and allowing you to use the phone without having to touch it, the Flash also accepts A2DP stereo bluetooth streaming and AVRCP remote control, so you can listen to music that’s on your phone through your car stereo and control your phone via the head display. It pairs with up to 10 phones and you can even update the firmware via a bluetooth-enabled PC. Minty!
Advanced Bluetooth hands-free, and multimedia technology, combined with a brilliant high definition OLED display makes the EGO FLASH the leader in its class. Listening to MP3 songs stored on your mobile phone, or any other Bluetooth enabled MP3 player, is one of the many features of the EGO FLASH.
