Car Window Heater – consign your ice scraper to the history bucket

Carwindowheater

Stop wasting time with gloves and a plastic scraping scraper nonsense. Just dig deep into those fleece lined pockets and pony up the £56.50 for this Car Window Heater with built-in timer, and don’t look back. Hmm…on second thoughts, for that kind of cash I’m sure you could find a Boy Scout willing to do the early morning scrape for a winter.

In the evening before your trip, just set the automatic timer to the desired operating time – approx. 30 minutes before you want to set off. When you get in, your windscreen will be free of ice and snow. You can drive off immediately. But no problem if you don’t. The heater will switch off automatically after 30 minutes. The set time remains saved. Just activate it by pressing the button the next time you need it. Will work even at icy temperatures down to –15°C and up to 4cm (1½”) of snow on the windscreen.

  • They sold those at JC Whitney in the 60’s –

You’ll still need the scraper unless you’ve got 20 minutes to wait while the ice melts. makes a nice defogger, though –

  • Just got one word to say – timer! :-)

  • Timer – but you gotta get to work, so you’re sitting there waiting for the ice to melt anyway.

Plus, the resistance heater draws too much power to be used with the engine off(no ice+dead battery=late for work), and leaving the car running in the driveway is an invitation to thieves, so you’re gonna sit there while the heater works and shut it off when the ice is gone anyway.

  • Ah good points all. I suppose it’s a device for closed garage owning…er…owners?

  • Try reading the product description

Runs on built-in NiCd rechargeable battery. No power is drained from the car battery.

  • I can't find where to order this.
