X2VGA2 – turns component video into VGA

Image

The X2VGA2 is a video transcoding device that allows you to use your Xbox, Wii or PS2/3 with a computer monitor but retain the high definition video signal. It’s designed for use with game consoles that use the standard video component output which it transcodes, outputting 480p, 720p, 1080i or 1080p equivalent resolutions for use on a computer monitor via a VGA connector. You can connect 2 video consoles at once and it has a VGA pass-through so you can leave your PC connected to the monitor at the same time. It doesn’t do DVI and to get 1080p resolution you’ll require a 17″ monitor or larger but that shouldn’t be a problem right? Available for $60US.

The X2VGA 2 High Definition VGA Transcoder by Neoya is designed to work with any gaming console or video device that has a standard component video output, such as the Playstation 3, Playstation 2, Wii, GameCube, Xbox 360, and Xbox, etc. With the X2VGA 2™ and a standard VGA monitor, users can play their favorite games at 480p, 720p, 1080i, or 1080p resolutions – over double that of a standard TV! The X2VGA 2™ makes games come alive, delivering the sharpest, most realistic visuals available.
