The Eclipse Crossword Puzzle Creator is a neat bit of freeware that gives you the power to create your very own crossword puzzles. Great for sharing specialist topics with friends and family, daily puzzles for your PTA association newsletter or what have you. The program also comes with a web module, so you can save a puzzle as a web page with interactivity and everything. Excellent value and loads of (3 letters, rhymes with bun). [Via Metafilter]
EclipseCrossword may be a quick download, but it has a lot under the hood. Many crosswords can be completed in a fraction of a second, and larger, more complex crosswords usually take just a few seconds. Advanced users can fine-tune the settings to the way they like them, everything from the positioning of the first few words to how important it is for the puzzle to be as compact as possible.
