Cool Web Apps & Sites posted by – social networking white pages

Snitchname is one of the reasons I’ve become a little uneasy about the current obsession with social networks. The tool offers a very basic service, just enter in a name and it will find all the social networks where that person is a member. Sounds cool, but in the wrong hands…? Anyway I guess it’s a pretty useful thing if you’re one of those who can’t remember which of the 20 communities you’ve signed up to, or to find lost friends maybe, so I won’t be curmudgeonly. Much.

This application was originally a tool I developed because I was tired of having to search in various place to find information about someone I met. It hasn’t been designed to be fancy, but solves a real world problem until the people that buid social services decide on some profile seraching APIs. Until that time comes is the best tool for the job.
