The Avira Anti Virus program is a freeware package which offers the usual protection against nasty malware stuff attacking you and yours. It apparently features faster scanning and support for adware and phishing too. The commercial version will also protect against drive-by infection from dodgy websites and email protection. Worth putting in the toolbox.
