Casio has announced a new batch of digital cameras. The EX-Z4 is a 4 megapixel version of the zoom camera whilst the EX-S20 & EX-M20 models are upgraded standard Exilim models. I say upgraded, but actually they’re rather a hybrid. Still at 2 megapixel, but with 60 second video recording. The EX-S3 that I have sports a 3 megapixel CCD but offers only 30 seconds of video.
The new cameras also provide 85% more battery life, a scratch resistant LCD and – gasp, at last! – a 30 cm macro function. The M also incorporates a microphone and they’re both around 10% smaller than older Exilim models.. Available in October, pricing – S at £199.99, M at £249.99.
This is oh so tantalising. My prediction is that the next model upgrade will be the EX-S4, with 4 megapixels, 85% more battery, 3 minute video, and macro. Now THAT will be a camera.
Oh and in case you’re wondering, here’s a shot I took this summer in Sweden with my S3 set on Sunset mode.
