Nottable – the universal portable laptop stand

Nottable

Apparently there’s a bunch of us out there who need to use their laptops in unconventional positions, which was enough to spur Brazilian inventor Nelson Motta to design and construct an innovative laptop stand called the Nottable. It’s made out of aluminium, is adjustable in all sorts of fascinating ways and from the sales video looks to be a high quality product. The neat thing is it looks small enough to collapse into a briefcase sized pack for transportation to strange and remote hotels. Priced at $150.00 and can be shipped worldwide.

    Strange name 'Nott able'.

Spelt???? Spelled – surely. And don't call me Shirley.

Spelt (Triticum spelta) is a hexaploid species of wheat.

I'm Australian, we say spelt instead of spelled. Yes spelt is also a grain, it makes very nice pie crusts actually, very flaky.

We say burnt instead of burned, but not all the time, and we don't say spurnt instead of spurned. Dunno why.

We add "u" to things such as colour, vigour and aluminium, we replace "zeds" with "esses" in words like realise and energise and lots of other really, really interesting things.

Hi Dan. I'm from England originally and have been in the publications biz all my life. I also used to say spelt (incorrectly). I used to say – ent – for isn't. That didn't make it right. I lived in Melbourne for a while and enjoyed it.

You have that bass-ackwards Blue. The yanks changed the zeds and esses. Us Limeys started the whole thing. I've been a proofreader in all three countries, so you may guess how screwed up I am. All the best. Ron. Get a Mac.
