TrueCall – the telesales department nightmare come alive

Truecall

The TrueCall call monitor sits on your home telephone line to protect you from unwanted insurance salesmen and bogus warranty renewal calls. The thing interrogates every new call that comes in – ‘und just how long hav you bin in zis country den’ – consults its whitelist database and shepherds good calls to your ears, and bad ones to a massive black hole of disappointment. Yay for the good guys. £97.50.

When an incoming call arrives, trueCall checks the caller’s number, and if it is on your Star list, trueCall doesn’t intercept the call – it allows your phone to ring as normal, and neither you or your caller will be aware that trueCall is there…Telemarketing companies are the source of many silent calls. trueCall’s Whisper feature will stop these getting through as it rejects callers who remain silent when they are asked for their name – your phone doesn’t ring.

You should check out my phone service provider they have a built in system called Telemarketing Guard which does all this and a web based portal service to manage it with too (Primus Canada). It's great, and a nice feeling to be able to report the jerks calling at dinner time as telemarketers too!
