AM Deadlink – Removes duplicate bookmarks and dead links

checking links

Bookmarking webpages is so easy that it’s a rare person who doesn’t have the odd duplicated bookmark. Reviewing your bookmarks for validity, on the other hand, is mind-numbingly dull and of course, you can multiply the fun by the number of browsers you use.

AM-DeadLink is a lightweight freeware tool which will run through your bookmarks files and check each bookmark for validity as well as find any duplicates for you. AM-DeadLink has a simple button so you can open the bookmarks in a browser, or even preview internal to the program. You can then quickly and simply delete all the outdated and duplicated bookmarks by asking AM-DeadLink to remove all bookmarks but one. Freeware, Win9x/Me/NT4/2000/2003/XP/Vista/Windows 7, and can be run as a portable app. Works with bookmarks for IE, Firefox and Opera.

  • Watch out,
this does not work with firefox 3.0+ that stores the bookmarks into sql lite db instead of bookmarks.html file.

Otherwise, that would have been great.
