Binatone iDECT M5i – the home phone that thinks it’s a mobile

IDECTM5i

The upcoming Binatone iDECT M5i cordless phone features a Bluetooth enabled share function which means you can make and receive your mobile phone calls on the landline…no more hunting for the right handset when a call comes in. The thing will also synchronize contacts between handsets and includes a speakerphone and digital answering machine. Pretty versatile really. Priced at around £70.00 for the single handset model.

The iDECT M5i can be used to make and receive mobile calls, as well as landline calls, thanks to its leading Bluetooth technology. So say ‘farewell’ to playing mobile phone hide-and-seek, whatever phone rings, just pick up the home phone. – Synchronise the iDECT M5i’s phonebook with mobile phones at the touch of a button, so there’s no need to hunt for phone numbers. – The iDECT M5i can also be used with Bluetooth headsets to allow hands-free talking on home phones; perfect for chatting while moving around the home. – The iDECT M5i also features 10 hours of talktime battery life, speakerphone and a digital answer machine.

  • Rubbish review – get one and try it before writing about it.
Key point is It doesn't synchronise contacts between mobile and base-station handsets it may between base-station handsets only – which is a common feature on most DECT phone
Oh- and it only allows incoming calls on a Bluetooth headset, so no dialling out and using the headset like you would on a mobile.
