Alpine iXA-W407 Digital Media Station – All your media in your car

Image

The Alpine iXA-W407 is an in-car entertainment system with a 7″ touchscreen, double DIN audio head unit with AM/FM radio and a four channel 50W max amplifier. It’s designed to communicate with iPods so it will read the track information, album art etc as well as letting you drive the iPod while it’s tucked safely away.

There’s a built-in Parrot Bluetooth module which allows you to access your address book, make and receive calls, caller ID etc and it can receive A2DP signals from your phone. There’s a dedicated USB port for other media players like iRiver and Gigabeats and it will talk to them via the media transfer protocol. It will also read USB drives.

It can be connected to Alpine’s GPS drive so you don’t get lost or you can plug in a reversing camera or two rear screens and a DVD changer to keep the kids safe and amused. Finally you can add Satellite Radio or an HD radio module if the previous paragraphs weren’t enough. When your done with all that, you can drive the car. US$800 from Alpine.

Introducing the iXA-W407 Digital Media Station. Dedicated control over your iPod or iPhone – all from a unique system control interface and just the touch of a finger on a crystal-clear large 7″ QVGA Touch Screen display. For innovative control, simply slide your finger and enjoy big icons for each source and easy-to-read menus.
