BodySound – Home theater arm chairs

The trouble with home theater setups is that they tend to be optimised for the room and not the people in them. These BodySound recliners fix that by packing the chair’s innards full of surround-sound goodness. Each BodySound chair has a 7 speaker system, amplifiers and control systems all hidden in the comfy leather chair, letting you feel like Captain Picard running the Enterprise. There are pop up speakers in the arms and hidden speakers in the headrest, behind your spine and under the seat.

BodySound make a range of different designs including love seats, rows of individual seats and all manner of custom designs. The audio receiver in the chair accepts pretty much anything including HDMI, optical, and analog inputs and you can drive it all using a touchscreen controller. Prices start at US$5995 for the recliner.

BodySound technology consists of a 7 channel amplifier with 200 MIPS of processing power, 7 speakers, steel framing, foam and wood laminates composed of more than 40 individual pieces, and a Control Link with a touch screen or a Mini Link controller. This technology is wrapped in 100% top grain Italian leather to create custom seating arrangements called Experiential seating.
