Virtual Aviation offer full blown flight simulator experiences to the public. Fly any of the major commercial aircraft of the day, from 747s to Airbus to Boeing 737NG. I’ve experienced this kind of flight sim and it’s unbelievably amazing. Just like being in the real thing (and I’ve done the real thing too). Pricey though, starts at £300+ for an hour on fixed sim. Great for flying-phobics though eh?
These flight simulators are sophisticated training devices normally reserved for airline pilots. They are certified by the aviation authorities to Level-D standard; the highest level there is. Level-D simulators are SO realistic that they can be used for ‘Zero Flight Time’ training whereby commercial pilots can complete 100% of their training in the simulator, without the need to fly real aircraft until their first commercial flight.
