LightForm – world’s first flexible LED lighting film has awesome potential

Lightform

LightForm is the world’s first flexible LED lighting film. This amazing stuff comes in 10 inch x 1 mm thin strips with sticky backed 2 sided tape, which you can cut and shape to your requirements. Just attach a battery pack to one end and you’ve got yourself a red, amber, green or blue decoration or safety lighting strip for your transport or other needs.

You can also sew the strips onto material, which makes me think it could offer a much easier way for people to turn their old clothing into safetywear for bicycles or whatnot at quite a reasonable price. For example, why not use it to mimic this turn signal biking jacket? The US developed strips are priced at around $29.95. It looks like an excellent product which could do with some decent marketing and exposure (hint: guys don’t make your website an image so search engines can’t find it!). [Review]

”This is one of the most radically innovative lighting products to come along in decades,” said Grote. “LightForm will change the shape, design and application of interior and exterior vehicle lighting in ways we haven’t even begun to imagine. In the evolution of lighting, this is a totally new species.”

It sure does look interesting stuff, but oh my word – every page on their website is just an image – absolutely no text anywhere, except in the odd PDF.

  2. Very interesting stuff. I've seen other lighting strips, but nothing like this. Another thought on the website is that the buy link should offer something other than just a phone number. They need an online store, but at the very least there should be a contact form or email address.
