The Elements – Has the iPad become “A Young Lady’s Illustrated Primer?”

I distinctly remember being bored by science – that is until I discovered computer science. Regardless, the latter is now really helping out the former since the iPad app, The Elements offers an interactive look at the periodic table. And for those of you who dislike intense reading content like this is just for you. Packed with information related to every element, this app offers a glimpse into what will be possible for tablet applications.

If you’ve read Neal Stephenson’s The Diamond Age novel, you’ll know how technology like this can potentially help out in terms of educational opportunities. I’ll give you a synopsis: it makes it waaay more interesting for those of us who grew up with a massive attention deficit. [Via BoingBoing]

And while we’re at it, check out a little ditty called – you guessed it – The Elements Song!

The Elements: A Visual Exploration is the most beautiful, the most interactive, the most magical ebook ever created, and it is shipping simultaneously with the release of the Apple iPad. The Elements for iPad preserves the lush look and beautifully composed pages of the best-selling hardcover edition, but adds an astonishing new dimension to the material.
