Garmin Forerunner 110 – new GPS watch goes for 3 weeks without a recharge

Garminforerunner110

What caught our eye regarding this new Garmin Forerunner 110 GPS watch, was not the trendy red strap stripe – alluring though it is – nor the slightly slimmer form factor than previous incarnations. It’s not even the new heart, calorie workout monitoring stuff.

No, it was the fact that it’s using the latest greatest SiRFstarIV GPS receiver, which is extremely low power, super fast to start and is apparently deemed to be jammer proof. Now, we’re not sure how many joggers are worried about GPS jamming as they scream past old ladies on the sidewalk, but it’s a comforting though nevertheless, don’t you think? $199.00 or so.

Whether you’re training to complete your first 5k or you want to get faster and fitter, accurate workout data is the key. Forerunner 110 uses GPS to accurately record your distance, time and pace. Data from each run is stored in the unit, so you can go back and see how you did last week or last month. Or, upload to our Garmin Connect website to review, relive and replay your run.

  • It lasts that long because you don't run very often :)

    • Running? What's that? :)
