Save a Blade – extend the life of your razor and profit

Saveablade

This Save a Blade device is a disposable shaver sharpener that promises to extend the life of your cheapo shaving tool and drive Mr Bic into bankruptcy. Or something. The sharpening process apparently takes no more than 5 seconds, what a shame the shave itself isn’t as short, eh? $19.98 (runs on AA batteries).

  • Yeah, right. I was "fooled", into buying and trying one of these and after many, many, attempts with 3 different brands of disposables, I could have gotten MUCH SHARPER edges on their blades, by using a heavy duty machinist's cross cut file.
The ONLY thing this "gadget" sharpens, is the inventor's and marketer's bottom line.

  • Being a person who carries pocket knives, I've learned how to sharpen them myself. So when I first saw ads for this device hit the airwaves I immediately doubted its ability to sharpen the blades on a disposable razor. I'm amazed this little machine has never been debunked on the Today Show or something similar. Wonder if Consumer Reports ever tested it…
