OPC Computer Amplifier – the guitar speaker stack that thinks it’s a PC

Opccomputeramplifier

This OPC Computer Amplifier is a full blown computer buried inside a guitar amp and speaker enclosure. No, it’s past April 1, but even so we’re checking the calendar again. Apparently the idea is to let guitar players plug their instrument into the stack and get the benefit of processing cycles as well as loud.

The thing contains 4GB of RAM, a 500 GB hard drive, Windows 7 64bit, WiFi and eight USB ports. Once the guitar is plugged in, you use the on-board software to tweak your guitar sound and generally make sweet music. Due out in June, this is one weird product, and we’re just wondering how long the delicate PC innards will cope with the axe thrash. Price TBA.

The revolutionary OPC Computer Amplifier Speaker is 100% designed and built in the UK. It is a fully integrated computer with internal speaker which delivers playing, recording, editing and computing capabilities to musicians and music aficionados. This is the first computer of its kind that you can connect yourself and your music to the digital world simply by plugging in your instrument.

  • Oh kee… Now if you just feel the urge to jam, you flick the switch of your amp and wait.. Wait.. Wait until it's booted up.
Perhaps its target audience is somewhat different than the average guitar junkie.
