TitanPad is a new free hosting service for the popular EtherPad document collaboration tool which was recently bought and shut down by Google. As before, there’s no sign up, so you can click the start button and be collaborating on a document instantly, which is a great way to brainstorm or plan or plot or whatever you need across vast distances.
You can save/export to a number of different format, including .doc and HTML, bookmark the page and even run a Google Wave type time slider to review changes as they were made in the past. It’s very cool and definitely a valuable tool for remote workers. And did I mention infinite undo? Nice!
TitanPad was launched to provide an EtherPad setup which is unrelated to any commercial and political entities. Its goal is to offer a stable service through proper operating. It is run by a team of IT professionals based in Austria. If demand is high enough, this operation will be formalized and backed by a non-profit association with the goal to provide a stable EtherPad host.
