These Opera S2 Wireless Headphones fit snugly behind your head, and feature some low power drain tech which can apparently deliver CD quality sound to your earholes as easily as *snap*. Or easier. A charge lasts for 10 hours of listening and priced at an ear-tingling £68.50. Mmm….

15 years ago I let a friend's cat stay with me for a summer while she was in Japan and Korea. In payment she gave me a Sony (Cassette) Walkman with wireless headphones (without the awkward "neck base" of the Opera S2). This technology never sold in the US where I lived but it had some benefits. It was extremely limited range but on public transport it was great. The Walkman stayed in my bag and the headphones with volume control stayed on me. I never got them tangled up with stuff that way. They had nice rechargeable batteries as well.

The funny downside was that the frequency that wireless was on seemed to correspond in the U.S. to early radio Pagers. Occasionally my musical selections would be comically interupted by short messages to "call me" or "Washer on Spring St. needs repair".
