The Social Grid is a ‘search engine for friends, soulmates, classmates, roommates, job listings…’ Apparently it uses Google, Grid computing, P2P (peer to peer) and file sharing. The only thing missing appears to be drunken party recommendations.
For simple searches, we leveraging Google ability [sic] to search 3.3 billion pages efficiently…For complex searches, we leverage grid and peer-to-peer (P2P) technology, using geographically distributed computers, unified to create a supercomputer for solving data intensive computing applications.
