Our reliance on portable technologies is a double-edged blade. On the one hand, we have more information available at our fingertips than ever before. Sometimes it seems like we can do almost anything, just using the devices we carry around on a daily basis. Of course, on the other hand, we’re limited by how long our batteries last. Once they run out, we’re dead in the water, so to speak.
Here’s an interesting concept that could prove very useful, if brought to market. Lets say that you have a phone and a digital camera with you, and your phone dies. You’re not using your camera, and you need to make a call. This Jump-Start CARD would allow you to set both batteries on it, and transfer the power from one battery to another.
I’m not entirely sold on the idea, though it does have potential. The issues I see are that there are a number of devices that don’t have an external battery, and that there is no mention of how long it would take to transfer the power from one to the other. I’m guessing that in most cases, it would simply be easier to carry around some sort of battery backup, and just rely on it.
