Gift a Stranger is a cute little online app powered by Google Maps, which lets you send a gift to a random stranger anywhere in the world. The gift can be anything, the recipient can be anywhere (as long as they have an address) and the delivery is by postal mail.

All you have to do is specify the gift you’re willing to send, upload a picture of it, and click Find Stranger. The service then offers you a random address somewhere in the world, which you can accept or ask for another. You’re as likely to be allocated someone in Korea or China, as France or Germany. It’s fun, totally whacky and you’ll need to check that some of the addresses don’t just point to a cactus.
