On/Off Paint Light Switch

How many times have you woken up and wished that the light switch was about six feet closer to your bed? There is finally a way to turn the lights on without having to clap or stumble over the furniture to find a switch. Designed by the French firm Quarks, this intuitive idea will hopefully be a product we get on the market soon.

The main idea is paint and an electronic mechanism. Once the ON/OFF paint has been applied to the wall, a touch will determine the status of an electrical appliance. Instead of being stuck to a simple flip-switch not even an inch long, youll now have the whole wall to turn things on and off as you please. This paint even has the capability to dim, act as a timer, or a plug. There is also the ability to control multiple items such as a lamp, roller blinds, and other electronic appliances. There is no need to strip wires or put more in, just decide the area which you would like to be your switch and go from there. This will likely be very expensive at first coming out, but you cant blame them seeing as this stuff even works through other layers of paint and wallpaper.

  • IT Guru thinks this is a great idea but how many accidental shutdowns will happen?
