We’ve all got duplicate photos on our hard drives right? Right? Part edited images, sloppily copied images, leftovers from one project or another. Over time it can amount to a huge waste of space, which is why this Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder freeware program is indeed awesome.
Fire it up, select the folder/s you want to scan and it will zoom off and locate your image duplicates in lickety split time. It managed to scream through my 38000 images (yeah, I know…) in around 28 minutes, and then depressingly informed me that around 50% were similar (lots of useless thumbnails). That’s potentially a lot of redundant disk space.
Of course you’re not going to want to delete all of the similar ones (small edits can be keepers), but at least you now have an option. Available in both installable and portable (e.g. USB drive friendly) versions. Grab it!
