Free Online OCR – free service extracts text from any uploaded image

freeonlineocr small Free Online OCR free service extracts text from any uploaded image

This Free Online OCR service provides a fast and nifty way to grab the text out of any image you upload without the hassle of firing up a bloaty OCR program. Just browse to the image file –  max file size 2MB –  and upload. It can be a PDF, TIFF, JPEG, GIF or BMP.

Amazingly enough it works, and quickly. We tried it with jpg and PDF files and the conversion was instant. The PDF was converted flawlessly, the jpg image less so, but still readable. It’s kind of amazing that this sort of technology can be so effective that it’s given away on web site apps nowadays. Definitely a great tool to bookmark for the future.

OCR stands for Optical character recognition. OCR software enables you to extract text from an image and convert it into an editable text document. If you need the text from an image you don’t have to sit and type in the whole text. Just scan the text and then use our OCR tool to convert it into editable text…This service is supported by non-obtrusive advertisements. Also in the future their might be additional features which will be available for a small fee.
