Android Injector – freeware lets you install Android apps on your phone without the market

Androidinjector

Android Injector is a neat little freeware program which lets you easily install Android apps on your phone without having to go to the Android Market. Just download the .apk file to your computer (hint: a google search for “*app name* .apk” usually works), connect your handset to the PC, select the apps and click Install to Device.

It’s definitely useful where you want to grab apps which aren’t available on the market yet, but remember that if you install off piste like this, you’re not going to get the upgrade or ‘restore on new handset’ functionality of your registered Market account. Still it’s a cool program anyhow.

Android Injector allows you to quickly and easily install apps that you have downloaded to your computer in the form of “.apk” files onto your Android phone or device. Some phones do not allow you to install apps from any other source except the Android Market. However, some app authors do not release their apps to the Android Market and elect to put them on other sites such as Getjar.com. Android Injector allows you to download apps from those other sources to your computer and then install them onto your phone from your computer quickly and easily via USB connection.

  • Why do i need Android Injector.. when I can do the same thing from my phone settings.

go to Settings > Applications > check the top box called Unknown Sources

You can un-check this box after you have installed a non market app.

  • Why? Because AT&T won't let you do that.

  • Also…in that case, why use all of your data downloading apps? Download them much faster on your pc then shoot them over to your phone quickly with Android Injector. And I don't mean copy the files to your phone then find them on your phone then install them with your phone. AI does all the work for you. Just drag and drop the apps (several at a time if you want) onto the program window and click "Install to device". That's it. And there's a new version available as well that makes it even easier. http://www.harmonyhollow.net/android_injector.sht
